Within the regular recommended inspection schedule of approximately every eight years, our first step in this detailed process is to provide an overall visual safety inspection of the entire pole structure. This would include drilling strategically placed holes into the pole to determine the integrity of the wooden core, including applying the wood salt based, or appropriate material preservative to prevent wood rot or insect infestation.
This inspection is generally completed annually, allowing our experienced and certified inspection specialists to ascertain hardware conditions, broken and or deteriorating cross arms or any obvious structural damage. We identify any immediate hazards resulting from storm damage or any other conditions that may be of concern.
Regardless of whether the transformer is above ground or below ground, it is visually inspected for any damage, vegetation encroachment, lock or hardware compromises and other issues that may be identified.
These reports are generated on individual poles. During the test and treat stage, using integrated computer software systems, we track and provide information for immediate or future pole replacement concerns where indicated.
